Needlepointer's Ornament by Sharon G

It was a busy day setting up for market and visiting with friends. Baltimore is a wonderful city to visit. I took time this afternoon to attend a class taught by Sharon G. She designed a new ornament for needlepointers.


  I like the center band with the spools as the ends of the spools are beaded and the center is padded. The scissors and thimbles are also beaded. Sharon recommended doing the beading first to prevent the  background from pushing  the bead out of place. Both the upper and lower bands would be great border stitches. To achieve the look of glass for the background , an iridescent clear bead were placed in a brick stitch pattern.
